Roy Keane may return to Management soon

Roy Keane has expressed his desire to return to management after learning about the vacancy at Celtic.


The Scottish club parted company with manager Ronny Deila, who will leave at the end of the season. The Norwegian has struggled to match expectations throughout his time at Celtic Park. Keane has never been hugely successful in his managerial career apart from his first season at Sunderland. Deila has been in charge of the Scottish club for less than two years, but they have not made any impact in European competitions. This has been one of the biggest criticisms aimed at the Norwegian.

Keane has been out of work as a manager since leaving Ipswich Town in 2011. He has been involved with national teams and clubs as an assistant manager, but it is far from being the big man. Even as an assistant manager, he has been out of work since 2014. Neil Lennon has been regarded as the hot favourite for the job. He knows the club extremely well after having enjoyed four great years before the regime of Deila. Lennon is also available just like Keane after having left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent following their relegation to League One. However, his reputation as a manager may have taken a hit as a result of this relegation. Read more
