Arsene Wenger says that Zlatan Ibrahimovic may only have a limited impact in the Premier League

Arsene Wenger says that Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic may only have a limited impact in the Premier League because of his age.

The much travelled Swedish striker has just arrived in England and will be looking to become one of the few players in the world to have won league titles in all major European leagues. He has been immensely successful in his club career by winning the league titles in Holland, Spain, France, and Italy. He has arrived at United as a free transfer after allowing his contract with PSG to expire.

In the past, Ibrahimovic has especially struggled against English opposition when coming up against these teams in the Champions League. This would come as a surprise since the 34-year-old is one of the physical players capable of performing in almost every scenario. Of course, this record has changed in recent years with Ibrahimovic helping PSG knockout the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City. It did not take long for the 34-year-old to make an impact in the team as he scored inside four minutes after making his debut in a pre-season friendly game. Yet, Wenger says that Ibrahimovic is unlikely to make a huge impact since age will take its toll on the player as the season progresses. Read more

Roy Keane may return to Management soon

Roy Keane has expressed his desire to return to management after learning about the vacancy at Celtic.

The Scottish club parted company with manager Ronny Deila, who will leave at the end of the season. The Norwegian has struggled to match expectations throughout his time at Celtic Park. Keane has never been hugely successful in his managerial career apart from his first season at Sunderland. Deila has been in charge of the Scottish club for less than two years, but they have not made any impact in European competitions. This has been one of the biggest criticisms aimed at the Norwegian.

Keane has been out of work as a manager since leaving Ipswich Town in 2011. He has been involved with national teams and clubs as an assistant manager, but it is far from being the big man. Even as an assistant manager, he has been out of work since 2014. Neil Lennon has been regarded as the hot favourite for the job. He knows the club extremely well after having enjoyed four great years before the regime of Deila. Lennon is also available just like Keane after having left Bolton Wanderers by mutual consent following their relegation to League One. However, his reputation as a manager may have taken a hit as a result of this relegation. Read more

Kevin Davies reveals that most players react when involved in a physical battle

Former Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies reveals that most players react when involved in a physical battle with the striker. This is especially true of the central defenders. Davies, however, sees the former United centre back Nemanja Vidic as a different personality. During his time in English football, Vidic went on from being an unknown from Serbian football into one of the best defenders in the world. He did pick up red cards during his time at Old Trafford, but Vidic will largely be remembered as someone who held his character on the pitch.

Davies is one of the most physical strikers to have played in the Premier League. For several years, Bolton were able to stay in the league largely because of the threat offered by Davies. Even though his goals dried towards the latter end of his career, he remained an integral part of the club who are now playing in the Championship. The former striker recently retired from football after spending his last two years at Preston North End. Davies has recalled how most of the top defenders like John Terry will patch up once the game is over. However, this was not the case with Vidic who did not choose to remain friends with opposition players. Read more
